According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes has spoken to Juventus about the availability of Juventus’ midfield duo Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba. David Moyes watched the pair, as Juve took on Calgari at the weekend, and spoke to Beppe Marotta afterwards. However Marotta told Moyes anything won’t be happening until the summer.
Both players are world class central midfielders, and both would improve our team dramatically. Moyes has reiterated a desire to only bring in ‘top players’ at Manchester United and both fit that bill perfectly. However that comes with a hefty price tag, and one which I’m unsure United can afford whilst the Glazers in charge.
Lets not forget we sold Paul Pogba to Juve only 18 months ago for a mere £300,000 because we wouldn’t offer him a £30,000 a week contract. Now look at him, he’s one of the best young midfielders in world football.
Vidal on the other hand is in his prime, and in my eyes he’s the best player of his type on the globe. He isn’t afraid to get stuck in, he picks out good passes and he also has an eye for a goal. He’d cost upwards of £30m though as he’s recently signed a new contract.
Top clubs simply do not allow their star players to leave in January, so if either of these two were to join Manchester United we’d have to wait until the summer.
