The transfer window slams shut at 11pm tonight, and before then the Manchester Evening News suggest United have four potential deals lined up for today. One of those four is believed to be Everton’s Marouane Fellaini as he is expected to sign for a fee around the £25m mark. His teammate Leighton Baines is another target.
Another rumour which surfaced last night is Mesut Ozil. The 24-year old German is believed to be in advanced talks with Arsenal, after the Gunners offered him €2m a year more in wages. We offered him £96k a week, whereas Ashley Young is on £110k a week, just to put that into perspective for you…
A deal for Ander Herrera could still be on the cards, too. Bilbao have confirmed that United saw a £26m bid for the Spaniard rejected, but would be forced to accept a bid if his £31m buyout clause is met. Herrera is a player built in the Luka Modric mould, and he’d certainly be an excellent addition to the United squad.
Daniele De Rossi has also been subject to a bid from United if you believe reports. We apparently offered €12m for the 30-year old Roma man, a bid which was immediately turned down as both player and club aren’t interested in a move.
The final name on the list is Wesley Sneijder, Galatasaray’s president confirmed that United had enquired about Sneijder a fortnight ago.
Moyes has just over 12 hours to get some deals done, and we’ll keep you up to date with everything here at Old Trafford Faithful!
