MUFC Player Ratings during 1-0 win over Wolves (Premier League away, 2021/22)

David de Gea – Made a stupendous save to preserve his clean sheet. He looked back to his best. 7/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Probably did the best job on Traore out of our defenders. He got stuck in when needed but didn’t get forward enough. 6/10

Raphael Varane – He was outstanding from minute one. The Frenchman put his head on everything, looked calm throughout and defended brilliantly. This is why you pay the big bucks to sign a proven centre-half. 8/10 Man of the Match.

Harry Maguire – Set the captain’s example. He played the ball out from the back nicely too. 6/10

Luke Shaw – I’d like to see him get forward a little more, while he was a little sloppy in possession today. He still worked effortlessly, though. 6/10

Fred – Started poorly. Very slack in possession and he was bypassed far too easily on a few occasions. 3/10

Paul Pogba – Moved back to the heart of central midfield and in truth, he looked like our only constant threat. Made a good tackle in the build-up to the goal. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Our Portuguese Magnifico was pretty quiet today. He also picked up a daft booking while arguing with the ref. 4/10

Daniel James – Just looked out of place in this team. It often broke down when the ball went his direction. 3/10

Jadon Sancho – He tried to make things happen, but it just wasn’t his sort of game. 4/10

Mason Greenwood – Led the line well but couldn’t really get a handle on the football. He took his goal brilliantly and made it three in three. 6/10

Subs:

Edinson Cavani – Gave us a presence up top.

Anthony Martial – Looked lively.

Diogo Dalot – Not enough time to mark.
