David de Gea – Had a pretty quiet game, in truth. Wasn’t really called into action. 5/10
Diogo Dalot – Outstanding. Bombed up and down the right-hand side all game and did his defensive duties well. 7/10
Victor Lindelof – Defended well. Handled Benteke nicely and tried to keep the ball moving forward with his passing. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Won many headers and set the captain’s example. Took a nasty late blow to the head. 6/10
Alex Telles – Good in both aspects of the game. Hit the bar with a brilliant strike from a free-kick. 6/10
Scott McTominay – Blew hot and cold. Started well but faded as the game wore on. 5/10
Fred – I think Mr. Rangnick is going to like this guy. Covered every single blade of grass and scored the sole goal with a sensational strike. 8/10
Bruno Fernandes – Not his best day at the office. Tried to make things happen but that final decision-making let him down. 4/10
Jadon Sancho – Started brightly and was involved in some lovely moves. Played a few careless passes to start the second half and was quickly subbed off. 4/10
Marcus Rashford – A frustrating one. He was caught offside on numerous occasions, while decision-making sometimes let him down. 3/10
Cristiano Ronaldo – Set the tone with his press from the front. Had a few half-chances but at least he was getting into the right positions. 5/10
Subs:
Mason Greenwood – Scuffed a shot early on, but was involved in the Fred goal.
Anthony Elanga – Nice to see him back out there.
Donny van de Beek – A sharp cameo.
