MUFC Player Ratings during 1-0 win vs Southampton

David de Gea – Made a smart stop when Southampton were pushing for an equaliser. Still needs to do better with the ball at feet. 6/10

Diogo Dalot – His best game of the season so far. Looked good going forward. Solid enough at the back. 7/10

Raphael Varane – Excellent again here. Won his aerial duels and looked like a real leader at the back. 7/10

Lisandro Martinez – Continued to impress. Aggressive in his defending. 8/10

Tyrell Malacia – Perhaps not as good as he was against Liverpool, but did more than enough to keep Luke Shaw out of the team. 6/10

Scott McTominay – He was decent. Didn’t do anything too spectacular, while his passing always felt safe. 4/10

Christian Eriksen – He looked like United’s biggest threat in the first 45. Didn’t see much of the ball in the second half. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Scored the only goal of the game with a stunning volley. That was the highlight of a pretty poor display. 5/10

Anthony Elanga – Still looks a little lightweight to me. Had some bright moments, but drifted in and out of proceedings. 4/10

Jadon Sancho – Quiet. Didn’t get on the ball in threatening positions anywhere near enough. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Not great. Struggled when up top as the lone striker. Didn’t really improve when he moved out left. 4/10

Cristiano Ronaldo – Didn’t really impress.

Casemiro – Came on late to help see out the game.

Fred – Not enough time to mark.
