MUFC Player Ratings during 1-1 draw vs Chelsea (Premier League away, 2021/22)

David de Gea – Made a top-class save to deny Rudiger in the first half. It was pretty simple for him aside from that. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Made some key tackles and a top block late on. However, the *tackle* he made for the penalty was unforgivable. 4/10

Victor Lindelof – There were a few calamitous moments from the Swede, but he was okay throughout this one. 5/10

Eric Bailly – Uncharacteristically calm in possession and dealt with the striker well. Solid. 6/10

Alex Telles – Switched off on a couple of occasions but on the whole, looked decent defensively. Didn’t really get into the attacking positions enough. 5/10

Nemanja Matic – Cruised through this one. Even showed a turn of pace and threw in some nice tricks and flicks. Excellent. 7/10

Scott McTominay – Ran himself into the ground and got physical with that Chelsea midfield on numerous occasions. He was good. 7/10

Fred – Outstanding defensively. Covered every single blade of grass for the cause and did his job well. I’ll have to take a mark off for that attempted chip, though… 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Wasn’t at the races. His passing was sloppy and didn’t really threaten throughout. Probably could have been subbed earlier. 3/10

Marcus Rashford – Had a really quiet first 45 but improved in the second half. 5/10

Jadon Sancho – Looked lively and always made the Chelsea defenders work. His goal was so calm and composed. Pure class. 7/10

Subs:

Cristiano Ronaldo – Didn’t really get the chance to be the focal point of our attack.

Jesse Lingard – Tried to make things happen.

Donny van de Beek – Not enough time to mark.
