MUFC Player Ratings during 1-1 draw vs Newcastle (Premier League away, 2021/22)

David de Gea – Made an unreal stop late on to deny Almiron. Also stopped Saint-Maximin early in the second half. 6/10

Diogo Dalot – Delivered some nice balls into the box. One led to the equaliser. He went missing at times defensively. 6/10

Raphael Varane – At fault for the Newcastle goal. He looked a little rusty. Hopefully, that’ll change as he gets the minutes under his belt. 4/10

Harry Maguire – A nervous wreck at times. Played too many hopeful balls forward, too. 4/10

Alex Telles – Couldn’t get into it on the offensive side of things. 5/10

Scott McTominay – Average. Struggled in that first half but didn’t really improve in the second, before being subbed off with injury. 4/10

Fred – Hooked at half-time after a dreadful 45 minutes. Struggled to pick out the simplest passes and just wasn’t good enough. 2/10

Bruno Fernandes – Poor yet again. Tried to play the Hollywood ball on way too many occasions when he could’ve just kept it simple. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Had a first half to forget. Improved slightly in the second but still not good enough. 4/10

Mason Greenwood – Unfortunate to be subbed at half-time as it could’ve been anyone, but didn’t really threaten. 4/10

Cristiano Ronaldo – Just couldn’t get into threatening positions whatsoever. Very quiet. 3/10

Subs:

Edinson Cavani – Changed the game with his energy and movement. His goal gave United a bit of life.

Jadon Sancho – Pretty average.

Nemanja Matic – Not enough time to mark.
