MUFC Player Ratings during 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid

David de Gea – Made a couple of relatively straightforward saves. Couldn’t do anything about the goal. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Played at right-back and it just didn’t really suit him. 4/10

Raphael Varane – Had a shaky start to this one but improved as the game wore on. 5/10

Harry Maguire – Probably gave his man a little too much space for their goal, but it was a fantastic header. Solid. 5/10

Luke Shaw – Just couldn’t get out from his left-back slot as the pressure was on from Atletico’s attackers. Did his best in a tough spot. 4/10

Fred – Worked tirelessly and tried hard to not let his team get overrun in midfield. 4/10

Paul Pogba – Was far too nonchalant in a high-pressure situation. Just couldn’t get anything going. 3/10

Bruno Fernandes – Poor for the most part and tried far too many risky passes. Did pick up the late assist, though. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Dreadful. His decision-making was awful. Often too selfish and the game just looked a level above him. 2/10

Jadon Sancho – Had a tough time because most of the play was in United’s half. Worked hard. 4/10

Cristiano Ronaldo – Couldn’t get into it. Had very little service. 3/10

Alex Telles – Brought some energy and desire.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Did relatively well.

Nemanja Matic – Actually improved our midfield shape.

Anthony Elanga – Scored the all-important goal with his first touch.

Jesse Lingard – Had a shot on target late on.
