MUFC Player Ratings during 2-1 loss vs Young Boys

David de Gea – Made a couple of smart saves to deny Young Boys. Couldn’t do anything about either goal 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Started brightly, but saw red after a rush of blood to the head. It was a tackle where he went over the top of the ball. 3/10

Victor Lindelof – Nice to see him back out there. He had a good game under the circumstances. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Led by example and defended with diligence. 6/10

Luke Shaw – Played well on both sides of the ball. Made some cracking recovery tackles to stop counter-attacks. 6/10

Fred – Nice to see him back out there. Kept things ticking over nicely and worked hard. Probably United’s best player… 7/10

Donny van de Beek – Had a great half, during which he looked sharp. Was an unfortunate casualty of the AWB sending off. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Played in a sumptuous ball for Ronaldo to open the scoring with the outside of the boot. Didn’t really do much when we went down to 10. 6/10

Paul Pogba – His quietest game of the season so far. Steady. 5/10

Jadon Sancho – Struggled to get into it. His passes were a little short and often made the wrong decisions. Hooked when Wan-Bissaka saw red. 3/10

Cristiano Ronaldo – Scored with practically his first touch. It was a lovely nutmeg finish to send United on their way. 6/10

Subs:

Diogo Dalot – Sharp.

Raphael Varane – Brought on to protect the lead.

Jesse Lingard – worked his socks off.

Nemanja Matic – Added some more defensive mentality to the midfield.

Anthony Martial – Not enough time to mark.
