David de Gea – 40 and out! David de Gea has finally saved a penalty again, and what an opportune moment to do it. 8/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Made some crucial tackles at the right moments. The Englishman tried to get forward and join in on the attack, too. 6/10
Raphael Varane – He’s an outstanding footballer, isn’t he? Positionally aware, defensively solid and won tackles galore. Top quality. Couldn’t do anything about the own goal. 7/10
Harry Maguire – Not his best outing. He was sloppy on the ball from time-to-time, particularly in the second 45. Defended well for the most part. 5/10
Luke Shaw – Bombed up and down the flank all game long and tried to make things happen. His corners into the box were also accurate. 6/10
Scott McTominay – Great to see him back out there. Brought energy into the midfield. 6/10
Fred – Was pretty good up until the hour mark when the passes started to head a little wayward. 5/10
Paul Pogba – Made some lovely, threatening runs forward and picked some inch-perfect passes. Fizzled out as the game wore on. 6/10
Mason Greenwood – He looked super sharp once again. His passing was crisp, the movement was exquisite and the overall performance was positive. 7/10
Cristiano Ronaldo – Constantly peppered the West Ham goal with shots. Was rewarded in the first half. Our talisman. 6/10
Subs:
Jesse Lingard – Scored a blinder to give his side the lead.
Jadon Sancho – Nice to see him out there.
Nemanja Matic – Played a key role on the eventual winner.
