David de Gea – Didn’t really have too many saves to make here, despite all Arsenal’s pressure. Distributed fairly well. 6/10
Diogo Dalot – Continues to grow and improve in this system. Looked threatening down that right-hand side and defended well. 6/10
Raphael Varane – There’s a reason why we call him Rolls Royce Rapha. The guy never looked fazed or panicked. Instead, just kept defending with diligence. Class. 7/10
Lisandro Martinez – Looked so solid again for the most part. Gave away a couple of daft fouls, but did well against an in-form Gabriel Jesus. 7/10
Tyrell Malacia – Got caught out by Shaka early in a 1v1, but more than made up for that with a sublime performance afterwards. 7/10
Scott McTominay – Absolutely sensational in every aspect. Good passing, solid in the tackle, positionally aware. A real top quality display. 7/10
Christian Eriksen – Picked the right passes, always found the open man and worked his socks off. Picked up an assist for the second Rashford goal. 8/10
Bruno Fernandes – Always looked for that killer pass. It paid off on a few occasions, particularly for Rashford’s first. He was brilliant. 8/10
Antony – Introduced himself to the crowd in the perfect manner with a stunning finish. He also showed his tricks and flicks. A really good debut. 7/10
Jadon Sancho – Worked hard enough, but was often pushed back by the Arsenal players. Fairly quiet in the final third. 5/10
Marcus Rashford – Scored a brilliant brace. Worked hard and led the press from the front. Got his just rewards for a good display. 8/10
Subs:
Cristiano Ronaldo – Looked desperate to score here, but wasn’t helped by his teammates in that regard.
Casemiro – Looked a little sluggish at times, but made some good tackles.
Fred – Played well. Came on and ensured all three points were won.
Harry Maguire – Picked up a quick yellow card but won some important headers.
