MUFC Player Ratings during 3-1 win vs Crystal Palace (pre-season 2022)

The Reds continued their pre-season tour with another win, with our MUFC Player Ratings from the 3-1 victory vs Crystal Palace now in.

David de Gea – Had a relatively quiet one but made a couple of comfortable saves. Could’ve done more for the Palace goal. 6/10

Diogo Dalot – Played in a delicious ball for the opener. Looked sharp. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Steady. Good with the ball at feet and marshalled his man well. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Unfairly booed every time he touched the ball. Defended well and played some superb balls forward. Set the captain’s example. 7/10

Tyrell Malacia – Always willing to get forward and a very lively player. Involved in the opener with some nice skill and a nice pass. 7/10

Fred – Worked tirelessly and kept it simple. Just what you’d expect. 6/10

Scott McTominay – A standard display. Got stuck in a few times and tried to carry the ball forward. The only half-time sub. 5/10

Bruno Fernandes – Was allowed to drift all over the park, finding those pockets of space. Missed a glorious chance. 6/10

Marcus Rashford – Made some good runs forward and was involved in the attack. Played some fantastic balls into the danger area. Scored a tap-in. 6/10

Jadon Sancho – He looks up for it this pre-season. So crisp and composed with the ball at feet. Got his rewards with United’s third goal. 6/10

Anthony Martial – Continued his rich vein of form with another goal here. Also brilliant in the build-up, picking up an assist with a lovely flick. Superb all-round. 8/10

Subs:

Donny van de Beek – Picked up an assist within minutes of coming on. Looked decent. 6/10

Alex Telles – Whipped some nice crosses into the area. Allowed his man a free header for their goal. 4/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Did his defensive job decently enough. 4/10

Will Fish – Nice to see the young man out there, though probably not quite ready yet. Never really settled and was sent off for bringing down the last man. 3/10

Charlie Savage – Kept it neat and tidy. 5/10

Zidane Iqbal – Not as flashy as his last couple of substitute appearances, but equally as effective. 5/10

Hannibal – Busy and tried to get involved on the attack. Had a half-chance saved.

Amad – Full of pace and energy, but the end product was often lacking. 4/10

Anthony Elanga – Probably United’s least-effective attacker once the subs were made. Didn’t really get into it. 4/10

  1. Excellent playing by our first team players. Bold playing by Antony Martial. He is our main man. He is so much on fire. Also excellent playing by Jadon Sancho, always our favourite player before even Martial came back. Like the superb runs by Sancho. Rashford also come back strong and his runs as well so good. They are going to be the superb threesome.
Also our goalie and Maguire did well. The first team overall was great. Congrats to all.
The younger ones still seem very nervy and edgy. They lose possession of the ball easily and some mistakes that David has to deal with. Their defending is poor as there are not many tall ones to head and defend. So we need to keep some old strikers and defenders from the first team instead removing all of them.
