David de Gea – Made some unreal saves again. During a game which he should have had a quieter afternoon. 7/10
Diogo Dalot – Didn’t cover himself in glory defensively on a couple of occasions. Had an average afternoon. 5/10
Victor Lindelof – Started in Varane’s absence and was largely solid. Somewhat culpable for the Pukki goal, though. 6/10
Harry Maguire – He was decent for the most part. Captained the side well but did catch Pogba with a rogue boot from a corner. 5/10
Alex Telles – Not great defensively. Did swing in a lovely ball for Ronaldo’s second, though. 5/10
Paul Pogba – Sat deeper than usual. Aside from a cheeky nutmeg, it was an afternoon to forget for the Frenchman, who did receive some boos from the fans at one point… 4/10
Bruno Fernandes – Also sat deeper than he’d have liked. As a result, he wasn’t nearly as threatening in the final third. 5/10
Jesse Lingard – His first start in what seems like an age. Looked a little off it which was to be expected. 4/10
Jadon Sancho – Always trying to make things happen. He looked a constant threat with the ball at his feet. 6/10
Anthony Elanga – Worked hard to force Gibson into a mistake for the opener. Won the free kick for the eventual winner. A solid outing. 7/10
Cristiano Ronaldo – The man of the moment. Scored a sublime hat-trick to power his side past Norwich on a day they largely struggled. 10/10.
Subs:
Nemanja Matic – United looked far more effective when he came on.
Juan Mata – Actually changed the game with his intelligence and ability.
Marcus Rashford – Not enough time to mark.
