Nani admits Moyes made him stay

Manchester United winger Nani, has admitted that David Moyes convinced him to stay at Old Trafford and pen a new five-year contract that will keep him at the club into his thirties. The 26-year old suffered an injury-hit season last year, and a consequence of that was poor performances when he did play.

He couldn’t string any real run of games together – playing in just 10 league games, most of which were from off the bench. Sadly, this season has started in a familiar fashion for the Portuguese international as he picked up an injury in pre-season. He has overcome that now though, and he put in an excellent performance for his country in the World Cup Qualifier on Friday.

He told the Daily Mirror:

“I am very content with my new deal at Manchester United. This summer was not easy but after a lot of thought and talking to David Moyes I believe it was the best solution.

“I feel I can offer many things to United. I had other important offers but without a sufficent challenge to make me want to leave United.

Its excellent to see David Moyes putting faith in Nani after just twenty minutes of pre-season football, and we could well see him start against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
