Manchester United have a real issue on their hands with Romelu Lukaku. The star striker has scored 42 goals in 96 Red Devils games, although Marcus Rashford is seemingly Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice forward.
There have been reports aplenty in regards to United’s Belgian forward, we covered a story from Het Belang van Limburg on June 4th. They claimed Lukaku has been told he can leave Old Trafford – provided the right offer comes in.
Juventus and Inter Milan have both been linked with a move for United’s 26-year-old star in the past. Yesterday, Gazzetta dello Sport‘s print edition, translated via Sport Witness, have thrown a new potential club into the ring.
They say that a third Serie A side, Napoli, are now in the mix. Apparently, they’re ready to offer €70m (£62m) for Lukaku – but only when he’s put up for sale by United…
Gazzetta make it clear that United state that Lukaku ‘isn’t on the market’ but if he’s not in Solskjaer’s long-term plans and the right offer does come in, you’d imagine that stance will change pretty quickly…
United paid £75million to sign Lukaku two years ago, so if a club comes in with an offer of somewhere around that mark, I personally think the 26-year-old will be off this summer.
