Nemanja Vidic furious with United over contract snub

Manchester United’s club captain Nemanja Vidic is apparently furious with the club because they still haven’t offered him a new deal, The Sun claim. The 32-year old Serb joined from Spartak Moscow back in 2006, and since then he has won five Premier League titles and a Champions League crown.

There are a whole host of clubs interested in taking Vidic when his contract expires in the summer, including the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan.

His partnership with Rio Ferdinand was one of the best centre-back pairings in world football a few years ago, and both players look likely to leave on free transfers in a few months time.

While Vidic’s performances have declined over the past couple of years, he is still a vital player that gives confidence to those around him. On the flip side of that, if we were to let him go we’d free up around £100k a week in wages that could be spent on bringing a younger player in.
