Nemanja Vidic will always be remembered as one of the best centre-backs to ever play for Manchester United, and last season he left in somewhat acrimonious circumstances as he made the move to Inter Milan. At that time, David Moyes was still manager, and you wonder whether he’d still be a Red if Louis van Gaal was instated as boss that little bit earlier.
According to the Daily Star, Nemanja Vidic returning to Manchester United is a possibility. The big Serb has struggled to make an impact in Milan, but he’s 33 now, and although Manchester United need that experienced defender, they need someone who is able to play every week.
The Star suggest that Louis van Gaal has already spoken to Vidic about a return to Old Trafford, and both parties are more than open to the move happening as early as January.
For me though, we should be looking at other targets instead. We shouldn’t panic buy in January, and if the right targets aren’t available we should have enough to seal a top four spot and hold out until the summer.
