Manchester United Football Club have always had a way when it comes to nurturing young up-and-comers and giving them their first-team opportunities.
Without question, Marcus Rashford is the brightest spark to come from the Red Devils’ academy over the last few years, though Scott McTominay and Mason Greenwood have offered some serious competition.
This term is already Rashford’s best in terms of goals scored, though injury cruelly struck at the worst possible moment and we may not see him take to the field again this term.
However, that hasn’t stopped people recognising his immense talents. Premier League defender, Max Aarons, has heaped praised on the 22-year-old United star, naming him the ‘toughest’ opponent he has faced off against so far…
“I’m definitely testing myself against the best players,” Aarons told Premier League Productions, transcribed by the Manchester Evening News.
“Rashford was excellent in the game when we played against them, definitely the toughest I have come up against so far.
“I think he is on another level pace-wise.”
The Norwich City man was actually linked with a summer move to United just seven months ago and I wouldn’t be surprised to see those rumours come to the fore in future because Aaron’s is a quality footballer.
To hear such praise from a fellow professional must be a huge confidence-booster for Rashford. It always means more when it comes from the people you’re competing against every season and again, it goes to show just how far Rashford has come since making his debut as a 17-year-old.
We’re lucky to call him one of ours and hopefully, that’s the case for the remainder of his career.
I genuinely hope that Rashford can get himself back out on the field before the season’s end as it’d also allow him to jet off to the European Championships with England.
