Manchester United made some supremely bold transfers over the summer, with Jose Mourinho looking to reignite that spark at the club. Paul Pogba was the big addition, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic also coming in. Now, reports say the influential Swede is already eyeing a move away.
That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who reckon that the now 36-year-old is keen on a switch to the MLS at the end of the current campaign – despite only arriving at Old Trafford less than four months ago.
“It’s a huge option for me. For the football and everything else. I can see myself conquering the US as I have with Europe.” Zlatan said.
“Lots of people stay in one place throughout their career, but I’ve travelled around like Napoleon, and conquered every new country where I’ve set foot.
“So perhaps I should do what Napoleon didn’t and cross the Atlantic and conquer the States as well.”
At the end of the day, you wouldn’t be wholly surprised if he did decide to switch rainy Manchester for the glamour and glitz of the United States. He’s approaching the latter stages of his career and you cannot fault him for trying to sort himself out ith one last pay day.
Ibrahimovic recently won Sweden’s version of the Balon D’or award – something which he has scooped up for ten of the last eleven seasons.
