Notable absences in Man Utd’s Champions League squad

Manchester United flew out to Belgium this morning, for the second leg of the Champions League tie against Club Brugge. Louis van Gaal’s men have a comfortable 3-1 lead thanks to a superb brace from Memphis Depay and a late third from the head of Marouane Fellaini.

Once again there were some notable absentees from the travelling squad, with David de Gea once again missing out. There is also no Marcos Rojo who still isn’t match fit. Jonny Evans misses out, as his long-term future at Old Trafford in doubt.

Perhaps a surprise omission is Antonio Valencia who came on as a late substitute against Newcastle at the weekend. There is also no space on the plane for Andreas Pereira and James Wilson.

Check out the full Champions League squad here:

Sergio Romero, Sam Johnstone; Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Paddy McNair, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling; Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Ashley Young; Memphis Depay, Javier Hernandez, Adnan Januzaj, Wayne Rooney.
