Man United will be without in-form right-back, Noussair Mazraoui, for a number of weeks after a heart procedure.
Manchester United are currently out of action due to the international break, though players are still going down with issues.
Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad and Harry Maguire have all picked up injuries over the last few days.
As has Noussair Mazraoui. The man from Morocco was mysteriously subbed off at half-time against Aston Villa, though now we know why.
According to ESPN, Mazraoui has undergone a heart procedure after dealing with palpitations. As a result, United will be without the in-form man for multiple weeks.
The problem is described as ‘relatively common’, while the surgery is only said to be ‘minor’. Though as you’d expect, the full-back needs time to rest up and recuperate.
From a footballing standpoint, this is unfortunate news. He’s one of only two fit full-backs at the club right now, so I’m unsure how Erik ten Hag well manage United through this period.
Diogo Dalot will presumably fill one of the slots, while Victor Lindelof is probably the best choice for the other position assuming Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia aren’t ready yet.
There’s also some claims for Harry Amass to come in and get the start, though it’s a tricky situation to throw a young kid into.
Obviously, for now, all our concerns and thoughts go with Mazraoui. His health takes priority over his football and I truly do hope that he’s doing well and his recovery goes smoothly.
Who do you think will step in to replace Mazraoui? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
