Obsessive BBC pundit takes yet another swipe at Paul Pogba

Manchester United picked up an all-important victory against Arsenal over the weekend, with Jose Mourinho’s men securing their spot in the top four.

The first goal came courtesy of Paul Pogba, who has been in brilliant form recently.

That didn’t stop the BBC’S Garth Crooks taking yet another swipe at the Frenchman, though, as he named his Premier League Team of the Week. The first thing to note is the fact that Pogba wasn’t even included in the team, yet Crooks still somehow found a way to get on the subject of United’s star midfielder.

“Fernandinho is everything Paul Pogba should be. In fact, if Pogba had what Fernandinho had, Manchester City would have suffered far more sleepless nights this season – and not just the one they suffered a few weeks ago at the hands of the mercurial Frenchman.” Crooks wrote in his BBC column.

I mean, he’s just become obsessed with Pogba, hasn’t he? Fernandinho and Pogba are completely different footballers, and comparing them is just naive journalism.

This criticism comes at a time where Pogba played a huge part in beating Fernandino’s team just a couple of weeks ago, and since then he’s had a huge hand in United beating Arsenal, while also progressing to an FA Cup final after some excellent work from the former Juventus man allowed Alexis Sanchez to score.

I think it comes back to the point that United sells stories and generates clicks. Crooks’ Pogba obsession is, quite frankly, becoming unhealthy. He simply cannot go a week without slagging him off for something. If it’s not his performances, it’s his dancing or even his hairstyle. Give it a rest will you?
