Today is the first time where there are genuine question marks surrounding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United future.
Make no mistake about it. That away loss to a struggling Newcastle United side hurt. More than anything, it was the manner in which the Red Devils seemed to roll over that was the most disappointing.
Now, according to The Sun, the odds on Solskjer to be sacked have been slashed, while Argentine Mauricio Pochettino is the favourite to take over…
Solskjaer is now 4/1 to lose his job in the Old Trafford hot-seat, while Everton’s Marco Silva remains the favourite to be relieved of his duties when it comes to next Premier League manager sacking odds. Spurs’ Pochettino is second-favourite at 7/2.
Pochettino is the 5/2 favourite to take over the Red Devils if the Baby Faced Assassin leaves, while Massimiliano Allegri and Brendan Rodgers complete the top three.
You can see most sense in Pochettino. He has an excellent reputation when it comes to working with youngsters, while he has worked on a shoe-string budget in North London. Whether we like it or not, that’d suit The Glazers perfectly.
Allegri is currently without work so he’d be the easiest manager to go out there and acquire, while the work Rodgers has done with Leicester City simply cannot be understated…
