Manchester United Football Club take on Chelsea in six days time, as Monday Night Football returns with a bang following the international break.
The Red Devils will be desperate to get all three points under their belt, as they look to close the gap on Frank Lampard’s side in the hunt for a place in next season’s Champions League.
As a booster, the 20-time Premier League champions finalised two signings as the January transfer window drew to a close. One, Bruno Fernandes, has already made his debut. Odion Ighalo is undoubtedly excited for his…
Anyway, Ighalo could get his moment against Chelsea, with Solskjaer confirming that the 30-year-old will be in the squad to take on The Blues.
“Yeah, he is going to travel with us,” Solskjaer is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“We will just see his fitness work this week and I think we will get him sharp.
“We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us.”
It was just yesterday we covered a story in which it was claimed that Ighalo would have to ‘produce wonders’ to be thrown in, particularly as the Nigerian didn’t travel with his new teammates to Marbella due to the coronavirus epidemic. Obviously, that started in China where Ighalo was playing his football before sealing a dream move to United.
Thankfully, he’s now seemingly been cleared to play by both the powers-that-be and United themselves. Now, Solskjaer has a different dimension to utilise during the last four months of the term.
With United competing it out in three different competitions, having a bigger squad is vital. Suddenly, with players returning from injury and these two signings being made, the situation is looking far better.
Now, it’s about Ighalo getting down to business and proving to the world that this was a smart signing by the Baby Faced Assassin.
