Manchester United Football Club take on Liverpool this weekend, in a game that’ll obviously be extremely fierce on the field. Ahead of the biggest game in English football, the first transfer deal of the January window could be close to completion.
That’s according to Eurosport UK, who reckon that Inter Milan have tabled an official bid for Italian defender, Matteo Darmian. The Serie A side have made an initial £1million loan offer for the 26-year-old, with an option to buy outright for a further £12.5million in June if the initial period goes well.
Whilst it would be a shame to see Darmian sold, the manner in which he has fizzled out has been extremely disappointing. He started life at the Theatre of Dreams brilliantly last season, but as the campaign wore on his performances got worse and worse and it was a real struggle for him in May.
Now, he is well and truly out of the team and you struggle to see how he’ll force his way back in. Sadly, a move away seems the only option, and if Manchester United can fetch in £13.5million for Darmian, that’ll be a good piece of business.
