Official: Jose Mourinho extends his Manchester United contract

Manchester United have announced that Jose Mourinho has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until summer 2020, with the option for a further year.

Mourinho’s current deal was due to expire in eighteen months time, but the fact that he’s added an extra year (potentially two) tells us that he remains committed to this football club and focused getting us back to where we belong.

I’ve no doubts that the Portuguese gaffer is still the best man for the job. He’s a born winner and he will return the glory days back to Old Trafford, as he’s won major trophies absolutely everywhere he’s been up until this point in his career.

I always ask the question, who would you get as a replacement if he were to leave? There are genuinely no viable options out there, and before anyone mentions Mauricio Pochettino, please don’t as he’s won nothing.

We’re looking good in the Champions League, have a chance at winning the FA Cup and we’ve made drastic improvements on our league form since the 2016/17 campaign. The only way is up for us, and I’m excited about the future.
