Manchester United’s culling of youngsters who Louis van Gaal doesn’t seem to fancy has continued on this deadline day, as Wilfried Zaha has made a permanent move away from Old Trafford and rejoins his old club, Crystal Palace.
The 22-year old never really got a chance on the biggest stage for Manchester United, but his attitude never really seemed like that of someone who wanted to play for the club week-in week-out.
Zaha cost United £10million plus £5million in add-ons, but due to the lack of appearances that latter £5million probably didn’t end up lining Palace’s pockets. The fee to take him back to London is thought to be somewhere around the £3million mark, meaning United have lost at least £7million on the Englishman.
Despite that, best of luck to him and I hope it all goes well at Crystal Palace.
Glad to be back permanently and appreciate all the messages #CPFC #home
