United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was last night made the outright favourite for the vacant position at Aston Villa. The 39 year old had a fantastic start to his managerial career guiding Molde FK to their first ever title in his home country of Norway.
Before this he took control of our reserve team for two and a half years and it was clear to see that he definitely had managerial talent. After his success with Molde it was inevitable that a bigger club would soon come calling, but is the Villa job a little too big too soon? For me it most definitely is, he’s only been the manager of a first team for one full season and I don’t want him to go the same way as Keano by starting with a bang and slowly fading out.
If he were to take the job, how weird would it be seeing him in the opposing dugout at Old Trafford, it’d be yet another master and apprentice challenge for Fergie to tackle, and you’d like to think we’d come out on top. The Villa job is a tough one as they have very little money, and he’d do extremely well to push for a top half finish if he were to take it. For me though, I hope he doesn’t take it, a bit like AVB and Chelsea last year. He needs a few more years under his belt, and he needs to pick his club wisely, and at the moment Villa seem to be on the way down rather than on the way back up.
Anyway, good luck to him, if he does take it then six points please for us eh, Ole? He will always be remembered in red hearts for THAT injury time winner, what a legend he is, all the best to him. 20LEGEND!
I think it’s the perfect timing to move to BPL. lets be honest, Villa is a big club with mid-table ambitions, and they got the players to reach that, I am positive the only way for Villa is UP! all the best to Ole, I truly hopes he does well.
