Manchester United’s attentions will turn to the FA Cup for the first time of the season this weekend, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will host Championship side, Reading.

With the way things are going recently, you’d expect the Red Devils to blitz The Royals and ensure safe progression into the fourth round, but this is the FA Cup after all, and anything can happen.

Over the hectic winter period, United have been busy with several league games, so this is the perfect opportunity to rest players and give minutes to those that need it.

Solskjaer met the media earlier today, and confirmed that both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez will get the first starts of his United reign, after both have been missing recently.

“Some of them are itching now to play, of course. Get Lukaku a start, get Sanchez a start. That’s important for them because they need more game time.” Solskjaer told ManUtd.com during his pre-match press conference.

Lukaku has looked electric in two substitute appearances, and I’m expecting a brilliant performance from him tomorrow lunchtime.

As for Sanchez, he looked bright against Newcastle, but he’s been out for a while and he desperately needs some minutes under his belt to build up those fitness levels.

While it’s brilliant to see these two guys in the team, I’m hoping that Solskjaer uses this opportunity to give youth a chance. Who knows, perhaps we’ll see a Mason Greenwood or a Tahith Chong get their debuts. If the Red Devils can get out to an early lead, it’d be the perfect platform to continue the proud traditions that his club has.
