Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides update on Alexis Sanchez fitness

Manchester United couldn’t have asked for a better start to their Premier League campaign. Beating Chelsea, and in convincing style, too, the Red Devils looked sharp.

Tougher tests are to come, starting with a potential banana skin away at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Midlands outfit really had our number last term. That’s something Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to put right.

Before the clash at Molineux on Monday night, the Baby Faced Assassin met the media to provide some all-important team news. Solskjaer stated that he hopes to have the same squad available to him as last time out. There was also an update on Alexis Sanchez – who seems set to stay at Old Trafford.

“He’s [Sanchez] part of our squad and he’s a very, very good player,” Ole told reporters including ManUtd.com“He’s just had a couple of weeks [of training], three weeks now, so he’s a few weeks behind the rest, but he’s very close to being part of it [the squad].”

Sanchez hasn’t been good enough at all since his move to United, though injuries certainly haven’t helped his case whatsoever. Just as though it looked as if he was beginning to find his feet with Chile over the summer he suffered a thigh issue – hence why we’re yet to see him this term.

He just looks like a man who has completely no confidence at the moment, though you cannot deny his overall ability and talent. Who knows, with Romelu Lukaku leaving perhaps Sanchez will get a real run in the side and maybe, just maybe, he can get back to his brilliant best.

Judging by Solskjaer’s comments, my best guess is that we won’t see him this Monday night, mind…
