Omari Forson closing in on signing for new club after choosing to leave Man United

Omari Forson has chosen to leave Man United, with the talented winger now in Italy as he looks to secure a move to Monza.

Manchester United Football Club has always been the best place in the world for budding young footballers to grow and improve. Erik ten Hag has continued that mantra, offering chances to the next generation. Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have been the biggest benefactors of that. Other youngsters have been on the fringes, too.

Among them, Omari Forson. The young winger has dipped in and out of matchday squads over the last few months, though there has been a hesitance to keep the Englishman in the side, due to the fact he wouldn’t commit to a new contract. It doesn’t make sense to spend time and energy on a player who could possibly leave.

Well, now we know that is true. Fabrizio Romano was all over the story last week, claiming that Forson had chosen to depart the Theatre of Dreams.

Now, the Italian journalist has confirmed further news on that front. United have been dealt a blow with the starlet leaving on a free transfer, though now we also know his next destination; Monza.

Forson will sign a four-year deal with the Serie A club, with the player already in Italy to sign his paperwork and documents, to make the move official.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s X post on the news here:

Honestly, I’m gutted to see Forson leave. Ten Hag was a huge fan of the winger’s, having him ahead of Amad in the pecking order at one point. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about his ability.

However, the player wanted to leave and there’s nothing United can do about that. He was given chances during last summer’s pre-season tour, even more would have followed this time around, with a view to Forson being gradually introduced into the squad on a more permanent basis during the 2024/25 campaign.

He didn’t want to wait and that’s absolutely fine. At least he’s not going to a direct Premier League rival. I wish him all the best over in Italy.
