Omari Forson set to sign new Man United contract after recent progession

Omari Forson is set to be rewarded with a new Man United contract, following his recent development.

Manchester United have never shied away from giving youth a chance. It has always been in their DNA, with Erik ten Hag continuing that mantra. Alejandro Garnacho is thriving, while Facundo Pellistri, among others, have also been given opportunities.

That is set to continue under the Dutch gaffer, with the club looking to tie down one of their brightest starlets to a new contract.

It’s the Manchester Evening News with the story. They claim that one young forward, in the form of Omari Forson, is ‘set to sign’ new terms with the Reds.

Forson’s current terms expire at the end of the season, though United are in ‘recognition of his progression’, looking to reward the attacker.

Sources have ‘played down suggestions’ of a stumbling block in negotiations, with those discussions seemingly advancing over recent weeks.

As soon as January rolls around, Forson would be free to talk to overseas clubs about signing a pre-contract agreement, hence, the Old Trafford side are looking to ensure they can protect their asset.

Forson is yet to make his first-team debut for the Red Devils, though he did look sharp in pre-season. The attacker also regularly trains with the first-team, meaning Ten Hag clearly believes he could have what it takes to make it at the highest level. There is a feeling at the academy that he is the next in line for exposure to regular first-team minutes.

What plays into Forson’s hands is his position. Predominantly a right-winger, which is a position of need for the club right now. No doubt the teenager is chomping at the bit for that opportunity.
