Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing some fabulous work on the field, while the stuff he is doing off it deserves immense credit to.
After getting Anthony Martial, Phil Jones and Ashley Young to commit to new deals, it seems as though Juan Mata is next in line.
That’s according to an exclusive from The Sun, who says that the 30-year-old is close to agreeing a new one-year deal worth £170,000-a-week after positive talks with the manager last week.
Apparently, there were both Premier League and European clubs interested in signing Mata, who now looks set for an Old Trafford stay.
Although he may not be the quickest, the Spaniard has a unique skill-set. His eye for a pass and overall vision is unmatched, plus he’s an expert at those close-range free-kicks.
You also have to factor in his availability. This is a player who’s ready to play the majority of the time. In fact, his current injury problem is probably the worst one he’s ever had while at Old Trafford.
Now if Mata can convince his two Spanish mates to put pen to paper that’d be wonderful. We desperately need both Ander Herrera and David de Gea to stick around for as long as possible!
