Out-of-contract Man Utd midfielder speaks out about situation

Manchester United’s Michael Carrick certainly didn’t look out of place during United’s 1-0 victory away at the Etihad yesterday, but as of yet, the midfielder hasn’t been offered a new deal. The Northern lad has been speaking to the media about the current situation at the moment.

“I have been here a long time, I have had some great times here and I love the club.” Carrick began. “Playing games like this, it keeps you having that buzz and enthusiasm to play for longer so we will wait and see what happens.”

It certainly sounds as though the veteran midfielder is begging for a new contract at Old Trafford, heck who wouldn’t? At the end of the day he has been a fantastic servant for the club, and has given us solid service over the years.

However there comes a time when the legs just can’t cope with the physicality of the Premier League, and Carrick has been exposed at times this season. I understand why the club haven’t offered him a deal yet, and they should wait until the summer before making a final decision.
