Owen Hargreaves gives his verdict on whether Man United will finish in top four

Manchester United Football Club were dealt a major blow in their pursuit of a top four Premier League finish last night. Once again, Wolverhampton Wanderers got the better of us as they continue to impress during their first season back in the Premier League.

Losing 2-1 away from home leaves United in fifth in the table while both Tottenham and Arsenal, who are in front of us, and Chelsea, who are behind us, all have a game in hand.

However, that hasn’t dampened Owen Hargreaves’ spirits all that much. The former United midfielder believes that the Red Devils will still ‘sneak in’ to the top four, thus earning their place in next season’s Champions League.

Before Manchester United’s loss to Wolves I would have said they would be in the top four for sure but that result changes everything,’ he told Premier League Productions per The Metro.

“Tottenham I think will be alright but Arsenal I think will miss out. Their home form is exceptional but away from home, they are poor.”

“I still think United will sneak in With Spurs and Arsenal and Chelsea will miss out.”

It’s going to be tight. There’s still six games left for United and nothing less than five wins will do it. One of those games is against Chelsea, so if we take three points there that’d be a massive positive. We also welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford which isn’t going to be easy.

Our away form is what could be the difference. United still play Everton and Huddersfield on the road. That simply has to be a guaranteed six points if we’re to give ourselves any sort of chance.

If there is a positive to be taken it’s the fact that United now have seven days to recover before they host FC Barcelona, meaning we could get a few players back from injury…
