From Fabregas to Thiago, to Baines and Fellaini, it feels like we’ve been linked with every player under the sun this summer. Next up on the list is Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil. Spanish source Bild are claiming that negotiations between United and Madrid are taking place for the German international.
Josep Pedreol, of Punto Pelota broke the news and claimed that details of the transfer could be out in the open soon, with Real Madrid expected a bid of around £38m coming their way. Real Madrid have already added Isco this summer, and look set to scoop Gareth Bale too, so they could be after selling one of their attacking talents.
United were linked with Ozil, 25, before he made his £12m switch to Real back in 2010, and has done well for the most part. Mesut Ozil himself though, wants to play regular football ahead of the World Cup next summer.
The ex-Weder Bremen man has scored 27 times for Real Madrid, and won one La Liga title.
