Manchester United’s MUTV could have let slip some news before the club have officially announced it – Michael Carrick has signed a new one-year extension. The news came from former red Paddy Crerand, who made the information public during live programming.
Crerand’s co-colleague Mark Sullivan was clearly doing his best to stop the Irishman revealing those details, but unfortunately, it was too late and Paddy had already blurted the news out.
It certainly looks as though things regarding a new contract for Carrick began to move swiftly as soon as Jose Mourinho took charge – with the Portuguese manager a clear fan of the veteran.
United’s current side doesn’t have that much experience, and that would be one of the main reasons as to why it makes sense to keep hold of Carrick. It’d be worth his weekly wages for dressing room purposes only, as he’s a real leader and would be a great senior figure for the younger lads in the dressing room.
