Manchester United Football Club have had a real saga on their hands with their goalkeepers this summer. Yesterday Anders Lindegaard sealed a move away from the club, but Louis van Gaal still has a couple of goalkeepers on his books whom weren’t expected to be at Old Trafford at this point.
Victor Valdes and Louis van Gaal had a well documented falling out in the off-season, as the manager confirmed the the World Cup winner refused to play for the U21s side towards the back end of last season.
However, according to The Times, Valdes’ proposed loan move to Turkish club Besiktas has fallen through and he will now stay at Manchester United beyond the window if no clubs come in for him today.
David de Gea on the other hand was so close to sealing a move to Real Madrid, but according to Sky Sports News’ Guillem Balague that deal did not go through in time and he is still a Manchester United player.
However I still wouldn’t be wholly surprised if this move does end up going through. At the end of the day its Real Madrid, and they tend to get their way eventually.
