Paul Poga’s ‘race is run at Man United’, pundit says

Paul Pogba’s time at Man United is drawing to a close, according to pundit Joe Cole.

Manchester United’s Paul Pogba problem has never gone way ever since his return to the Theatre of Dreams. From very public spats with a former manager, to constantly flirting with other clubs via the media, with some dreadful performances sprinkled in the middle…

I certainly think it’s fair to say that the Frenchman hasn’t lived up to the hype for the most part. I mean sure, he’s had some good spells, but I cannot get away from his first few years back home in Manchester, during which he seriously struggled.

As we’ve inched closer to Pogba’s contract winding down to its expiration date, the rumours have been rife about where he’ll end up. However, one thing seems clear, he will not be playing his football in Manchester next term.

Well, one pundit believes that’s a good thing for United. Joe Cole expects that the star’s time at United is over, claiming he ‘doesn’t add anything’ to this United side while admitting that his Old Trafford ‘race is run’.

“I don’t think Pogba adds anything to this side. His race is run at Man United,” Cole said live on BT Sport, transcribed by the Manchester Evening News.

“Ever since Bruno Fernandes walked through the door, I think he’s just a percentage better than Pogba in all areas and there’s only room for one of them in the team because of egos.

So I think his time is done. He needs a new challenge. But I’m a big fan of Bruno Fernandes.”

Obviously, this is some firm criticism for the £89million man. I will also say that it’s fair.

When Pogba is on song, there’s nobody better at what he does. Sadly, he doesn’t deliver that week-in-week-out and we’re always left wondering which Pogba is going to turn up on any given day.

At this point, I’d happily let Pogba walk away. Sometimes I just can’t help but think all the drama and media attention heaps more pressure on Pogba when he probably doesn’t want to deal with that.

The massive transfer fee hasn’t helped him, either. When you’re signed for so much money, there’s extra weight on your shoulders. I also believe that’s had a negative effect on United on the whole.

Perhaps it’s best for everyone involved if these two parties go in different directions when the summer rolls around.
