Manchester United made some colossal signings over the summer, the biggest of which was a record-breaking move to bring former midfielder Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford. Although the 23-year-old started off rather slowly, he seems to be finding his feet.
The way he can dominate matches with his physicality, strength and technical ability has been a joy to watch over recent weeks, and he’s finally forming a bond with his teammates on the field which only bodes well.
Now Pogba has been speaking to the media, and admitted that he has always had Manchester United ‘in his heart’, and Old Trafford ‘is his house’.
Speaking at an exclusive Adidas event, Sky Sports quote Paul Pogba as saying:
“I have United in my heart, it’s my house. When I left I always knew that I would come back. For me, it’s just normal. It’s like I went on holiday and just came back. Seriously. Nothing really changed. I’m the same person.” Pogba said.
It really is wonderful to hear Pogba speak about Manchester United so highly. When he left for Juventus as a teenager, the fans were absolutely gutted because they knew just how good he could be. To have a player who clearly cares about the club this much is great.
The French midfielder also went on to talk about just how delighted he is to see Jesse Lingard joining him i the first-team, as the pair grew up together:
“When Jesse saw me, I was really happy to see him,” he added. “We grew up together. To see him in the first-team, I’m very happy and very proud.”
Credit goes to Jesse Lingard. In my opinion, the winger gets some unfair criticism from the fans at times and I’m not quite sure why. To see a youth product succeed at Old Trafford is always excellent. Heck, I think he deserves all the credit he gets purely because of that stunning FA Cup winning strike alone.
