Back in January, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United played an absolute blinder when they acquired Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
The deal was a relatively inexpensive one given the calibre of player, with Fernandes hitting the ground running and putting in some outrageously good performances.
It got us thinking, what if Fernandes linked up with Paul Pogba for the season’s remainder? The Frenchman was due to be back from injury before play was halted due to COVID-19. We were literally hours away from photos of the pair training for the first time.
Well, fast-forward a couple of months and those snaps are finally here! Check out shots of Pogba & Fernandes in training together for the first time, all socially distanced, of course:
It’s all about building a bond, a relationship, knowing where each other will be without even looking. The time these guys can put in on the training field before taking it to the in-game situation could be crucial to their early success as a midfield combination.
With everything that’s going on right now, I’m starting to enjoy things more and try not to take stuff for granted. Yes, there’s a real possibility Pogba leaves this summer but you know what? I’m going to make sure I love every second of watching these two talented guys play together.
