Man United star Paul Pogba has serious concerns about the thigh injury he suffered.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time at Manchester United has been incredibly mixed. The squad is now in a better place, though the style of football is incredibly inconsistent.
Perhaps it can all be summed up by one man; Paul Pogba. The Frenchman, too, has been good and bad in equal measure. During his last start against Atalanta, United’s number six was truly awful.
He couldn’t pick a pass and roamed around the field like he didn’t have a care in the world. Well, that may well be his last display in a United shirt during which he isn’t free to talk to overseas clubs about signing a pre-contract agreement…
That’s because Pogba has suffered a serious thigh injury, Sky Sports News report. The Frenchman picked up the problem during a France training session on Monday.
Now, the key star fears he could be ruled out until 2022 with the injury, dealing United a massive blow as the walls continue to close in around Solskjaer.
The 28-year-old will be assessed and monitored by United’s medical staff after being sent back to Manchester. It goes without saying, he’ll no longer feature over the current international break.
With a contract expiring next June, come January, Pogba can talk to overseas clubs about organising terms that will begin upon the expiry of his United deal. I genuinely don’t think it’s out of the realms of possibility that he doesn’t play for the club again – as United could well cash in on him during the mid-season window in order to get some sort of transfer fee back.
Whatever your thoughts are on Pogba, the next couple of months are going to be far tougher without him. Not least because it thins out an already struggling central midfield area.
