The story comes from David Ornstein, who was speaking about a wide variety of topics on his latest podcast with Mark Chapman.
Apparently, Pogba has ‘expressed excitement’ at the possibility of playing with the superstar 20-year-old Sancho at United next season. Heck, who wouldn’t want to play with the young Englishman who has scored twenty goals and assisted seventeen more this season?
Obviously, the links to Sancho have been pretty consistent over the last few months, while we should expect COVID-19 to play its part at some stage.
United have been mightily impressive since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes. Suddenly, it feels like the Red Devils are just a few players away from competing again. Make no mistake about it, signing Sancho would be another step in the right direction.
If adding the Englishman offers Pogba another reason to stick around and sign a new contract then I’m certainly all for it. Sure, Sancho won’t come cheap. The transfer fee may even out-do the £89million United spent to bring Pogba to Old Trafford.
However, Sancho being aged 20 comes with longevity. He also fits the player profile that Solskjaer has shown a preference towards; young and homegrown.
I’ve said it before, but I’d like to think a deal will be reached. It’ll take some pushing from Sancho’s side and likely go right down to the wire, but I’m confident he’ll be playing in Red next season. Hopefully alongside Pogba… What a team that’d be, huh?
