Manchester United Football Club continued their excellent Premier League form over the weekend, with a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Swansea City.
The match was Paul Pogba’s first domestic start in around a month, after seemingly falling out of favour with manager Jose Mourinho.
However, after the home victory on Saturday, Pogba insisted that there is no problem between him and his manager, before the Frenchman added that he respects Mourinho’s decision-making when it comes to team selection.
“There is no problem with Mourinho,” he said, per The Guardian. “It’s not me who picks the team. Ask the coach if you want to know why I play less. I respect his choices. It’s true [being benched] has never happened to me, but it can strengthen me. You have to go through these periods to make you stronger.”
Honestly, Pogba is a true professional who just enjoys playing the beautiful game. It would have hurt him dearly when he was sitting on the bench watching his pals play, but credit to him, he waited for his opportunity then took it with aplomb against Swansea.
It was an excellent performance from the former Juventus man. Pogba controlled the game from the get-go, while displaying an excellent range of passing that took the game away from our Welsh opponents.
Now the task for him is to continue those displays, and it starts with a huge game at The Etihad Stadium next Saturday, when the Red Devils have to do all they can to stop Manchester City from securing the Premier League title against us.
