Paul Pogba offers injury update, drops hint he could return ‘soon’

Manchester United Football Club have had a season completely derailed by injury. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lost several key players for prolonged periods of time but somehow, the Reds are still in the hunt for a place in the top four.

The biggest treatment table woe is easy to identify. Paul Pogba has been out injured since the Carabao Cup game against September and he’s only featured in seven games all season.

Solskjaer didn’t seem too convinced his return would happen quickly, though perhaps the mercurial Frenchman thinks otherwise.

Pogba took to his Instagram to offer an all-important injury update to the fans, while dropping a hint that he’s set to return ‘soon’ – according to the caption anyway…

It’s a precarious situation. Pogba is obviously an immensely gifted young man, though it’s fair to say that his, and his agent, Mino Raiola, have a strained relationship with the club right now.

In an ideal world, Pogba can come back before the end of the season, play well and help United to a place in the top-four. Following that, it’ll be interesting to see what materialises over the summer. If any suitable bids come in for the Frenchman, and Solskjaer has identified a replacement, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave Old Trafford for good.

For now, though, let’s just enjoy him while he’s here.
