Manchester United’s form just seems to be getting worse – not better. For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the walls are quickly closing in.
Midfield is the biggest issue even with Paul Pogba fit, but without him, it’s a nigh-on travesty. The worst part about the 1-0 loss to Newcastle United yesterday was the fact that it’s not even surprising.
Now, though, United have two weeks off and it’s vital that players start returning from injury during this period. Shortly after the defeat, Pogba has taken to Instagram to offer fans an all-important injury update – as he looks to work his way back to fitness in time for the Liverpool game.
It’s great to see Pogba putting in a shift on the bike – which as he hints at, will not be easy in that simmering heat.
He now has the best part of fourteen days to get himself fighting fit and healthy for a crunch game against Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s men have been in scintillating form this term and they don’t look like stopping anytime soon. If we’re to have any chance whatsoever, Pogba has to be 100% for that one.
It’ll be interesting to see how we get on with our backs against the wall against the old enemy, though right now I’m not feeling confident…
