Paul Pogba has pulled out of Manchester United’s squad to take on Huddersfield Town with an illness, according to the club’s official Twitter account.
During Jose Mourinho’s pre-match press conference yesterday, the United boss said that Pogba would play, but it seems as though the world-class midfielder has picked up a virus of some sort, ruling him out of the clash.
However, that presents young Ethan Hamilton with a huge opportunity as he’ll take Pogba’s place in the match-day squad. This will be his first appearance with the senior team, and what a massive confidence-booster that’ll be for him.

With everything that was going on regarding media ‘lies’ yesterday, I cannot help but feel that Mourinho is protecting Pogba. The spotlight will be on him during this match if he did play, and we should have more than enough to beat Huddersfield without the £89million man.
If the illness is legitimate, it makes zero sense to risk him. His services will be needed much more for the games against Sevilla and Chelsea that are coming up over the next week.
