Manchester United players returned for the start of pre-season training today, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer begins to prepare his players, both mentally and physically, before the tour starts next week.
Amongst those who wasn’t spotted at Carrington was Paul Pogba. The reasoning behind that is so far unknown, although Italian media outlet Tuttosport have provided us with an update the Frenchman’s future…
They say that Pogba is set for talks with Solskjaer this week (although no date and time is specified). Apparently, the Man United star is set to try and convince the Baby Faced Assassin that he should leave this summer – with his departure being the ‘best solution for everyone’.
Furthermore, Pogba is going to cite that his loyalty to United last season, in a real time of struggle, should be awarded with a transfer away…
First and foremost, I’m not sure me and Mr Pogba agree on the meaning of the word loyal, as constant flirting with Real Madrid certainly doesn’t fall under that bracket in my opinion…
I just find it laughable that he’s trying to use that as an excuse to leave. He’s already admitted that he wants to seek a ‘new challenge’ during this transfer window, but the ball is in United’s court.
If Solskjaer doesn’t want to let him go, then United technically don’t have to cave into his demands. The only problem I can see happening is if Pogba continues to kick up a fuss. It’ll certainly be interesting to see what happens when he returns for pre-season training (if he turns up at all…)
