Paul Pogba dropped an absolute ‘disasterclass’ vs Finland, before being substituted in the second half of a 2-0 loss for France. As you’d imagine, the Manchester United fans weren’t impressed.
How to solve a problem like Paul Pogba? Well, it seems as though Manchester United have tried everything over the last few years. Update: Nothing has worked.
For a man who cost £89million, I think it’s fair to say his performances have left us all disappointed. I can count his world-class games on one hand, which simply put, isn’t good enough.
This season, the Frenchman has been relegated to the United bench on several occasions, with the Reds looking far better without him on the field. Coincidence? Possibly…
Well, it seems as though his slump is now carrying over into his France performances. Against Finland last night, Pogba was as bad as I’ve ever seen him play – and that’s saying something.
It was a lackadaisical, disinterested performance from the World Cup winner, which must be a huge cause for concern for Didier Deschamps as well as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It’s just not what you come to expect from a player who we’re often told is amongst the best in the world in his position.
There’s only so long fans can back him, though. The Old Trafford Faithful have slowly turned on Pogba over the last few seasons, while his constant flirting with Real Madrid hasn’t helped. Right now, though, I’m not sure they’d want him!
If you believe the gossip column, United are looking to sell Pogba next summer and I genuinely can’t blame him. Right now, he’s more of a hindrance than help. Plus, when you factor in a winding down contract, it seems like the logical decision to make.
Anyway as you’d imagine, United fans would slate the star’s performance for his national team. We’ve compiled some of the reaction below. Warning, it makes for grim reading…
