Paul Pogba will not renew Man United contract, wants Real Madrid switch as soon as possible: report

Manchester United find themselves in a real mess in regards to Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman hasn’t beat around the bush, making it clear he’d like to leave over the summer. The Premier League transfer deadline has now passed, though European clubs can still buy players until September 2nd.

Well, the latest story on Pogba’s future comes from Marca – and it doesn’t make for good reading…

They write that the United star will not renew his Reds contract and he wants to join Spanish giants Real Madrid as soon as possible.

Pogba is actually contracted until 2021, with United holding the option to extend that deal by a further year. Essentially, the 26-year-old has three years left on his deal, which will be down to two by the time next summer rolls around.

I don’t see United cashing in on Pogba this summer or in January (unless an incredible bid comes in). In 2020, though, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the mercurial Frenchman depart from Old Trafford – most likely heading to the Santiago Bernabeu.

For now, it’s about Ole Gunnar Solskaer utilising his talents while he’s here. Although Pogba has been consistently inconsistent, he’s still by far and away the most talented player within the squad and comfortably our best midfielder. Big money will be needed to replace him when the time comes.
